Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sol Duffy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carl Anderson!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, David Schapiro and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duffy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Anderson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Duffy napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Anderson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Anderson is looking to take a break and control but Duffy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Duffy is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Duffy is looking to reverse the position.
Duffy manages to get back to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anderson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Anderson keeping moving, preventing Duffy from controlling successfully.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Duffy looking to sit in guard and control but Anderson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Duffy moves out of range of the body kick from Anderson.

Anderson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Anderson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Anderson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Duffy defends it easily.

Anderson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Duffy defends well.

Anderson pulls Duffy in close to prevent any damage.
Duffy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Duffy throws a big right hand that misses.

Duffy decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Anderson, up you get!
Carl Anderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Duffy misses with a combination

and Anderson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Anderson has clasped his hands together around Duffy's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Anderson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Duffy to his feet.

Anderson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Duffy on his heels. He'll look to pass Duffy's guard now, I'm sure.

Duffy is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Anderson is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
