The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alarcon connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Alarcon drives through and clinches with Barton against the cage.
Barton tries to circle away but Alarcon has him pinned against the cage.

Alarcon manages to break the clinch.
Barton shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Alarcon counters by moving into the clinch.
Barton fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Alarcon breaks the clinch.
Ruthless Barton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barton scores with a one two! Alarcon had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

It looks like Alfredo Alarcon has been cut.

Alarcon gets a clinch.
Barton is trying to push Alarcon away but Alarcon has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Alarcon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Barton tries a head kick but it misses.

Alarcon rushes Barton and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Alarcon manages to break the clinch.

Alarcon darts in and clinches Barton up against the cage.

Barton is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Alarcon is defending well for now.
Barton is trying to break free.

Alarcon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Alarcon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Barton, pushing him back against the cage.

Alarcon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Alarcon lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Barton backwards.
Barton tries a body shot but Alarcon blocks it.

Alarcon breaks the clinch.
Barton moves in looking to clinch but Alarcon pushes him off.
Alarcon cracks Barton with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Barton tries to keep at a distance but Alarcon has taken the fight into the clinch.

A right handed body shot lands from Alarcon.

Alarcon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Alarcon lands a nice hook to Barton's body. Barton takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Barton tries for a takedown but Alarcon circles away easily
and Alarcon counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ruthless Barton. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Barton takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Barton shoots in and drives through. Alarcon sprawls well.
Alarcon wants to counter with a clinch but Barton pushes him away.
Barton is breathing heavily.

Alarcon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Barton breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Alarcon cracks Barton with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Barton falls to his knees and Alarcon doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
