The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgregor leaves Smith with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Mcgregor went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Mcgregor tries to clinch but Smith moves away
enabling Smith to counter with a crisp jab.
Mcgregor throws an overhand right that lands on Smith's shoulder, as Smith tries to avoid the shot.
Smith changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Mcgregor tries to work over Smith's front leg with a kick but Smith checks it.
Smith fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mcgregor misses with a few strikes there.
Smith fails with the takedown.
Conor Mcgregor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joelana Smith.
Smith moves out of range of the body kick from Mcgregor .
Smith moves into range and connects with a jab.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Mcgregor shows good takedown defense.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mcgregor throws a lazy right hand but Smith sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Mcgregor misses with a few strikes there.

A head kick lands from Mcgregor that sends Smith to the canvas. Smith tries to scramble back to his feet but Mcgregor brings him back down into side control.

Smith is rocked!

It looks like Joelana Smith has been cut.

Mcgregor decides to stand up, so the ref orders Smith to his feet.
Smith is still on wobbly legs! Can Mcgregor finish him?
Smith motions for Mcgregor to come forward. Smith throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Smith looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
An attempted straight right counter from Mcgregor misses the target.
Smith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mcgregor takes a swing at Smith's ribcage but misses.

Mcgregor lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Smith crumples to the floor! Mcgregor milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
