The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bartone misses with a two punch combination.

Johansen moves into the clinch.
Johansen tries for a takedown but Bartone manages to get underhooks.

Johansen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Johansen scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bartone is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Johansen jumps into side control!

Bartone had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Johansen is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bartone Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Johansen's back instead.

Bartone has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Johansen has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
