Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hal Burnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Boyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hal Burnett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Boyer!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyer fails with a takedown attempt.

Boyer closes the distance and clinches.
Boyer is trying to break the clinch but Burnett has him pressed against the cage.
Boyer is looking to break free of the clinch but Burnett has double underhooks.
Burnett avoids the elbow strike from Boyer, against the cage.
Boyer stalling in the clinch.
Burnett wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Burnett is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Boyer is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burnett fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Boyer stops a takedown attempt from Burnett.

Boyer tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Burnett controls from within his opponent's guard.
Burnett wants to control from the top but Boyer keeps moving.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Boyer has an active guard here but Burnett has managed to pass into half guard.

Burnett not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Boyer is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Burnett pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Boyer has his foot on Burnett's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Burnett works his way back into a safe position though.
Burnett wants to control from the top but Boyer keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Boyer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Burnett slaps away a takedown attempt from Boyer, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Burnett clinches with his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Billy Boyer will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Burnett lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Burnett throws a head kick that Boyer semi-blocks.
Boyer blocks a head kick by Burnett.
Burnett slaps away a takedown attempt from Boyer, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Boyer dips to his left and cracks Burnett with an uppercut!


It looks like Hal Burnett has been cut.
Burnett shoots in looking for a takedown but Boyer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Burnett's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boyer rushes Burnett and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Boyer tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Burnett just stands there and leans against the cage.
Boyer is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Hal Burnett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Billy Boyer.
Boyer lands a shoulder strike.

Burnett wants to break the clinch but can't.
Burnett drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Burnett is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Boyer to keep the fight standing.
Burnett tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Boyer smiles and moves away.
Boyer throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Burnett tries to counter by clinching up but Boyer breaks away and moves out of range.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Burnett tries to keep at a distance but Boyer has taken the fight into the clinch.

Boyer pulls guard effortlessly.

Boyer has his foot on Burnett's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Burnett works his way back into a safe position though.
Boyer is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Burnett gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Boyer is trying to pull guard but Burnett has him pressed against the cage.
Burnett prevents Boyer from breaking the clinch.
Burnett has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Boyer is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Boyer jumps guard and drags Burnett to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Burnett is really struggling to control Boyer but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Boyer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Boyer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Burnett's guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Boyer sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Burnett's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Billy Boyer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Boyer shoots in and drives through. Burnett sprawls well.
A head kick misses from Burnett.
Boyer fails with an attempt to clinch.
Burnett thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Boyer if he has to take too many more of those.
Boyer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Burnett but Burnett pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Boyer fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Burnett looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boyer comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Boyer. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Boyer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hal Burnett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Billy Boyer.
Boyer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Boyer throws a wild body kick that Burnett sees coming a mile off.
Burnett throws a nice head kick!

Boyer gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Burnett is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Boyer can't fight it off and eventually Burnett manages to take the fight to the floor. Boyer looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Boyer has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Burnett off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Burnett tries to clinch up but Boyer circles away and keeps his distance.
Burnett could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Burnett shoots for a takedown but Boyer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Burnett goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Boyer wants to counter the offense by Burnett and move into the clinch position.

Boyer fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Burnett drops down looking for a counter takedown but Boyer sprawls and moves away.
Hal Burnett is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Boyer shoots for a double leg takedown but Burnett sprawls well. He's pushed Boyer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Burnett tries to counter by clinching up but Boyer breaks away and moves out of range.

Burnett thows a body kick. Boyer tries to catch it but that hurt him.
