PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sausage McMuffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Combat Device (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McMuffin comes to the cage accompanied by my chemical romance- Helena. Device comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Way of the Fist - Five Finger Death Punch kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Combat Device will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sausage McMuffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Combat Device!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Device looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Device lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
McMuffin has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Bonsai Club MMA in the buildup to the fight.
A lazy left from McMuffin finds it's target.
McMuffin tries for a takedown but Device sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
McMuffin misses with a wild body shot.
Device uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McMuffin.
Device throws a shot to the body.
McMuffin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Device.
McMuffin misses with a looping right.
Device drops down looking to force a counter takedown but McMuffin defends it well.
Device throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
No joy there for Device, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Device moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McMuffin dodges the punch combination from Device.

Device lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Device.
Device throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
McMuffin shoots for a takedown but Device saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Combat Device seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McMuffin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nice straight punches there by Device. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Device.
McMuffin defending well as Device loads up on a big left hand.
Device ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Device lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Device stuns McMuffin with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
McMuffin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Device forces McMuffin back against the cage and clinches.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

McMuffin manages to break the clinch.
Device shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. McMuffin eats them both and turns towards Device to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Device uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McMuffin.

McMuffin throws a combination that misses

so Device counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
McMuffin has his hands on Device's head, controlling the position.
McMuffin throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McMuffin has control of Device's left arm, preventing Device from doing any damage.

McMuffin is looking for a triangle but Device pushes his legs off easily.
McMuffin thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
McMuffin is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Device got a little sloppy there for a moment and McMuffin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Device has managed to get both his arms back between McMuffin's legs - danger averted.

McMuffin is looking for a triangle but Device pushes his legs off easily.
Device must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
McMuffin is controlling Device's posture.
Device looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

McMuffin has his foot on Device's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Device works his way back into a safe position though.

Device is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but McMuffin has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Device is looking to defend but McMuffin has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Device! McMuffin pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Device taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Sausage McMuffin!
Sausage McMuffin gave a mention to Mizuko in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
In defeat, Combat Device stepped up to the mic, saying 'Whatever, I'll be back and I'll flatten whoever I get placed in front of.'.
