Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iosefa Umaga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Auld Bawls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bawls has chosen AC/DC - Big Balls as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Iosefa Umaga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Auld Bawls!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bawls shoots in but Umaga avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Iosefa Umaga seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bawls has gone for a leg lock! Umaga slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bawls's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bawls passes the guard and advances to mount!
Umaga might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Umaga is looking to improve his position but Bawls isn't that keen on the idea.
Bawls manages to capitalize on a mistake by Umaga to take his back!

Bawls seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Umaga's chin but Umaga turns very nicely into Bawls's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Umaga.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bawls is trying to hold Umaga in close to prevent damage but Umaga has managed to pass into half guard.

Bawls tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Umaga has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Bawls throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Bawls shoots in looking for a takedown but Umaga manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bawls's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Umaga counters with a nice leg kick.
Bawls closes this distance looking for a takedown but Umaga circles away.

Bawls is breathing heavily.

Umaga throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Bawls tumbling to the canvas!


Bawls is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bawls is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bawls is still in real trouble! Can Umaga finish him?
Umaga trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Bawls seems to have recovered his senses.

Bawls is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Umaga defends well.
Umaga stands and throws Bawls's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The referee asks Umaga politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Umaga prefers to stall for the moment though.

Bawls is looking to regain half guard here but Umaga keeps moving and retains side control.
Umaga controlling the position from side mount.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Bawls is looking for a sweep.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Umaga fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bawls has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Umaga is looking to counter with a body kick.

Iosefa Umaga dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Umaga throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Umaga throws a body shot but no joy.
And Bawls tries to counter it with a takedown but Umaga pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Bawls tries to move into range but Umaga moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Bawls slips under a jab from Umaga.
Bawls's coach down at Tayne's 4d3d3d3 Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Bawls's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Bawls misses the shot to the body.
Umaga appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Umaga lands a jab-cross combination.
Umaga is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bawls can do to turn this around?

Umaga throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Umaga connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Bawls momentarily.
Umaga lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Umaga cracks Bawls with an uppercut from hell and Bawls crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Umaga's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Umaga stands and throws Bawls's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Bawls takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Umaga controls the position.
Bawls is looking to reverse the position.
Bawls is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Umaga off and has taken his back!

Umaga is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Bawls gets his way!
Bawls is controlling the position but Umaga somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Auld Bawls has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Umaga is doing well to control the position and prevent Bawls from advancing to side control.
Bawls thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Umaga's head.

Bawls seems to be working for a kimura but Umaga defends the submission attempt.
Bawls thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Bawls is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Umaga sees it coming and defends easily.

Bawls works his way into full mount!

Umaga defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Bawls.

Bawls moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Umaga has worked his arm free - good work by Umaga!
Umaga is looking to reverse the position.
Bawls working the ground and pound but Umaga is defending the strikes.

Umaga has one of Bawls's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
An elbow from Bawls crashes against the mat.

Bawls looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Bawls misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Bawls throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Umaga works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Bawls thows an elbow strike that misses. Umaga gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. Bawls doesn't seem too bothered but Umaga quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! Bawls is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! Bawls really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Iosefa Umaga!
An out of breath Iosefa Umaga thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
In defeat, Auld Bawls stepped up to the mic, saying 'What happened? '.
