The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Manganese clinches with his opponent.

Carter manages to pull guard.

Manganese got a little sloppy there for a moment and Carter has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Manganese has managed to get both his arms back between Carter's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carter is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Manganese is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Manganese tries to free his leg and advance position but Carter is retaining full guard.
Carter might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Carter is pulling down on Manganese's head. It's preventing any offense from Manganese, at least for the moment.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Manganese catches Carter with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Nice uppercut lands for Manganese. That snapped Carter's head back.
Carter tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Manganese paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Manganese pushes Carter against the cage. Manganese is working some dirty boxing. Manganese pushes off with a quick right hook! Carter goes down! Carter tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Manganese moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
