The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cross gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Shelton counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Junior Cross has been cut.
Shelton fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Shelton throws a hook but Cross avoids it easily.
Cross with the counter takedown but Shelton avoids it easily.
Cross keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Shelton.
Shelton digs a good body shot into Cross's ribs.
Horrible takedown attempt by Cross or perhaps it was just good defense by Shelton, which made it look bad.

Shelton instigates a clinch.
Cross is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Shelton pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Marc Shelton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Junior Cross.
Shelton digs a right hand into Cross's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Cross's gas tank.

Shelton is working Cross over against the cage.
Cross goes for a takedown in the clinch but Shelton prevents it.

Shelton creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Cross with a big uppercut! Cross tries to clinch up but Shelton pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Cross to the mat! Cross covers up and Shelton unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
