These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nixon slips a jab and a cross from Couture.
Couture falls off balance throwing a combination
and Nixon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

It looks like Dan Couture has been cut.
Nixon lands with a cross.
Nixon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Couture misses with a body shot

and Nixon counters with a crisp right hand that drops Couture! Nixon lets Couture back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Couture fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nixon manages to avoid it.
Dan Couture seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Couture throws a series of punches but Nixon moves out of range.
Nixon looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Couture stuns Nixon with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Nixon takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Nixon misses with a looping left.
Nixon keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nixon uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Couture.
Nixon's coach down at KING OF PAIN was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Nixon's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Couture punishes Nixon's body with a nice straight punch.

Oooooh!!! Nixon has knocked Couture down with a huge combo! Nixon steps away and waves a wobbly Couture back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
