Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
davis scores with a sloppy right hand. Steamboat should have avoided that one.
Steamboat lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
davis shoots for a double leg takedown but Steamboat sprawls well. He's pushed davis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Vade Steamboat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steamboat avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Steamboat has davis up against the cage in a clinch.
davis tries to pull guard but Steamboat holds him up against the cage and eventually davis drops back down to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

davis jumps guard and drags Steamboat to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Steamboat drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Steamboat jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Steamboat is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. davis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Steamboat is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but davis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
davis is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Steamboat wants to pass the guard but davis is keeping the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
davis postures up in Steamboat's guard and throws a big left but Steamboat blocks it.

Steamboat had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. davis is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Steamboat Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take davis's back instead.
davis rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

davis has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Steamboat. Oh but davis has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Steamboat goes limp - he's gone! davis jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
