The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pedersen stalks Laurier and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Laurier's face. Laurier staggers backwards, shaken.
Pedersen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Laurier.
Pedersen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lane Pedersen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pedersen throws a head kick but Laurier moves out of range.
Laurier throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Laurier takes one to the side of the head.
Pedersen does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
A punch lands to the side of Laurier 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Pedersen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Laurier shoots in but Pedersen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Pedersen should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Laurier checks a leg kick nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Laurier thows a left - swing and a miss!
Danga de danga de dang - Pedersen scores with a four punch combination!
Pedersen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Laurier moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Pedersen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Laurier.

Laurier looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Pedersen!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pedersen tries to buck Laurier off but he can't manage it.
Laurier cracks Pedersen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Pedersen is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Pedersen is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Laurier locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Pedersen is forced to tap!
