Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Simenkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Moreno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 34 - 1, fighting out of New York, Sergei Simenkov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hector Moreno !
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moreno tries to clinch up.
Moreno has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Moreno tries for a takedown but Simenkov sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Simenkov moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Moreno misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Simenkov.

Simenkov wants the takedown. Moreno is fighting it off but Simenkov persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Moreno 's guard against the cage.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Simenkov is fighting to break Moreno 's control of his arms but Moreno is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Moreno is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Simenkov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Moreno is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Simenkov manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Moreno keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Moreno takes a swing at Simenkov's ribcage but misses.
Moreno throws a hook to the side of Simenkov's head but Simenkov sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Simenkov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Moreno bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Simenkov's guard.

Simenkov is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A relieved looking Sergei Simenkov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
