The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White closes the distance but Mikhailov moves to the side

and Mikhailov counters with a single leg into guard. White didn't expect that.
Mikhailov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Mikhailov is looking to work some ground and pound but White has wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mikhailov decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on White, up you get!
Sonny White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
White tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mikhailov swats him away and circles back towards the center.
