Coming up we have a welterweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Jake Stevens and Zack Kittel. Stevens comes to the cage accompanied by Johnny Nash - "Stir It Up". The crowd seem to be enjoying Kittel's choice of entrance music: Bon Jovi - You Give Love A Bad Name. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Jake Stevens! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Zack Kittel!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Kittel forces Stevens back against the cage and clinches.
Kittel is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Stevens is defending well.

Kittel pulls guard.
Stevens wants to control from the top but Kittel keeps moving.
Kittel controls Stevens momentarily but Stevens frees himself.
Stevens stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kittel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Stevens stays in close to Kittel's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stevens tries to free his leg and advance position but Kittel is retaining full guard.

Kittel wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Stevens is now in half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stevens is working for a guillotine from mount but Kittel frees his head quite easily.

Stevens has control of Kittel's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kittel regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Stevens looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Stevens avoids the attempt from Kittel to control.
Stevens trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Stevens wants to finish this one by submission but Kittel is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Stevens.
Stevens tries to control but Kittel wriggling away.

Stevens is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kittel to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kittel shrugs it off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stevens wants to take Kittel's back here but Kittel is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Stevens tries to free his leg and advance position but Kittel is retaining full guard.

Kittel is looking for a triangle but Stevens pushes his legs off easily.

Kittel pulls Stevens in close to his closed guard and prevents Stevens from doing any damage or advancing position.

Kittel is looking for a triangle but Stevens pushes his legs off easily.

Kittel has his foot on Stevens's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stevens works his way back into a safe position though.

Stevens is taking a breather. Kittel says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Stevens is really struggling to control Kittel but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Kittel moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Stevens trying to control but Kittel is working from the bottom.
Stevens is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Stevens's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
