Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 17 - 1, fighting out of London, Konrad Koltun!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alvarez shoots in and gets a takedown into Koltun's guard.

Koltun looking for a guillotine here but Alvarez defends easily.

Alvarez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Koltun has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Alvarez has managed to get both his arms back between Koltun's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Alvarez lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Koltun misses with a hook to the ribs.

Alvarez lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Koltun manages to break the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Alvarez scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Alvarez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Koltun on his heels. He'll look to pass Koltun's guard now, I'm sure.
Alvarez passes Koltun's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Alvarez is working for a kimura but Koltun is defending it quite comfortably.
Alvarez has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Koltun tries to improve his position but Alvarez has taken his back! Alvarez has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Koltun tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Alvarez pushes Koltun away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Eduardo Alvarez!
Eduardo Alvarez took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
