Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Monty Python (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maki Kamiya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maki Kamiya will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Monty Python!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Maki Kamiya!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Steve Montenegro and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot by Kamiya.
Kamiya pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Python back to the cage. Kamiya follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Maki Kamiya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kamiya gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Python stalling against the cage.
Python is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kamiya is defending well for now.
Python wants a takedown but no success here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kamiya pushes off an throws an elbow but Python leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Python goes for a takedown attempt but Kamiya pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Kamiya connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Kamiya scoring well with a low kick there.
Kamiya has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Python is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Kamiya is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kamiya, right into the meat.
Python misses with a takedown attempt

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Monty Python. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Python drops his hands momentarily and Kamiya takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Python takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Python is looking to chop away at Kamiya's legs.
A nice inside leg kick there by Kamiya. That's going to slow Python down.
Kamiya delivers a nice body kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Python misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kamiya.
Python avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Python was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Python has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kamiya.
Maki Kamiya is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Python fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kamiya, pushing him back against the cage.

Python is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Python seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Python is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kamiya gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Kamiya unloads a knee to the mid-section. Python lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Kamiya swings wildly with an uppercut but Python uses good head movement to avoid it.

Kamiya misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Python.

Python blocks an elbow strike.
Kamiya scores with a nice hook to the head.
Kamiya makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Python struggles to land a body shot inside as Kamiya controls his hands.
A frustrated look appears on Python's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Python manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Kamiya misses with some punches.

Kamiya is fighting off a takedown attempt but Python is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kamiya to the mat. Kamiya regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maki Kamiya dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Kamiya throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Python on the side of the head.
Kamiya throws a leg kick but Python checks it.
Python half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Kamiya has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Python takes a kick to the side of the head.
Kamiya lands a front kick.
Kamiya misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Python crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kamiya - the referee stops the clock and Python gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kamiya. Python manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Kamiya lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Python defending well as Kamiya loads up on a big left hand.
A little feinted left hand from Python on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Python takes a jab right on the kisser.
Kamiya lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Kamiya sends Python crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Kamiya is motioning to the referee to let Python up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


Python is rocked!
Look low, kick high! Kamiya uses the oldest trick in the book to send Python tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Kamiya is absolutely delighted - when Python wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Maki Kamiya!

Maki Kamiya tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
