PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Derks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Derks has chosen The Reckless And The Brave as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Nate Derks told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Johnson scores with a nice strike.

It looks like Nate Derks has been cut.
A shot to the liver by Johnson. Beautiful body shot.
Derks shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Derks's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Johnson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
A jab lands there for Johnson.
Johnson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Derks punishes Johnson's body with a nice straight punch.
Johnson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Derks stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Derks swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Johnson defending well as Derks loads up on a big left hand.
Derks shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johnson sprawls well. Johnson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Derks gets slowly back to his feet.
Johnson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Johnson dips to his left and cracks Derks with an uppercut!
Derks takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Johnson lands with a hook. Derks tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Johnson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Johnson drops Derks with a straight right hand, right on the button! Johnson follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Johnson!
