The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson throws the left hand but Matasaki avoids the punch easily.
Matasaki scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Matasaki throws a nice looking combination but Thompson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Matasaki misses with a wild combination.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Matasaki checks a leg kick.
Matasaki appears to be looking for a big counter.

Thompson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Matasaki rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Thompson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Matasaki is on top in guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Hirusho Matasaki will probably get the nod.
