Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Trent Waves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Edmond!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edmond throws a sloppy head kick and Waves moves out of range easily.
Waves throws a right hand that Edmond ducks under and follows up with a left that Edmond also avoids with ease.
Edmond looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Edmond shoots in for a takedown but Waves shows good takedown defense.
Waves instigates a clinch.
Edmond fails to pull guard.
Waves holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Waves working hard to break the clinch.
Waves presses Edmond against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Edmond prevents a body shot from Waves.
Waves pushes Edmond back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Waves scores with a shoulder strike.
Waves tries to circle away but Edmond has him pinned against the cage.

Edmond is trying to pull guard but Waves turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Trent Waves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Edmond.
Waves lands a body punch in the clinch.
Waves tries to break the clinch but Edmond is controlling the position.

Waves pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Waves closes the distance and clinches.
Edmond is trying to push Waves away but Waves has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Waves escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Waves looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Waves tries to sprawl but Edmond drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Waves has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Edmond is on him like a limpet, forcing Waves back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Waves lands a body punch in the clinch.
Edmond can't find room to land a body shot as Waves controls the action.
Edmond jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Waves walks away with a smile on his face. Edmond gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Daniel Edmond seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Edmond has closed the distance and engaged Waves in a clinch.
Waves lands an uppercut.
Edmond using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Waves has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Waves misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Edmond wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Edmond jumps guard but Waves stands there with Edmond around his waist. Edmond gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Edmond tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

A quick uppercut on the inside from Waves.
Edmond tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Waves just stands there and leans against the cage.
Waves looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Edmond can't break the clinch.
Edmond has Waves pressed against the cage, preventing Waves from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Edmond tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Waves working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Waves pushes Edmond back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Waves stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Edmond throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Edmond throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
The fighters circle momentarily. Waves darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
A head kick misses from Edmond.
Waves moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Edmond is rocked!
Waves lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Edmond - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Waves!
