The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spong has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Spong there as he acknowledges the shot.
Spong moves out of range of the strikes.
Spong shoots in but Poppenhausen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Poppenhausen lands with a thumping leg kick.
Poppenhausen displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Poppenhausen throws a jab but it's blocked by Spong.
Spong with the counter takedown but Poppenhausen avoids it easily.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Poppenhausen.
Spong tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Poppenhausen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Poppenhausen steps in with a hook that catches Spong right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Poppenhausen follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Spong looks absolutely devastated.
