Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Dalisay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julius Birch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Julius Birch is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ricardo Dalisay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Julius Birch!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dalisay lands a jab.

Birch closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dalisay tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Birch presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Dalisay is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Birch has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Dalisay's face.

Birch goes for an armbar but Dalisay turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Dalisay.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dalisay wants to control from the top but Birch keeps moving.

Birch is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dalisay defends well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Birch working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dalisay doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Birch is tightening it up a little... Dalisay has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Dalisay reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Dalisay taps out! Nice BJJ there by Birch!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Julius Birch!
Julius Birch decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
