The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bugaev cracks Smiles with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like Big J Smiles has been cut.
Smiles blocks a jab.
Smiles is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Bugaev.
Bugaev misses with a looping left.
Smiles rushes Bugaev and presses him up against the cage.
Smiles unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Smiles stalling against the cage.
Bugaev jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Smiles walks away with a smile on his face. Bugaev gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Smiles tries to clinch but Bugaev is having none of it.
Bugaev looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Bugaev drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Smiles right on the button. Smiles goes down! Bugaev follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Bugaev gets the win via TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Bugaev!
