Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bertram Mooney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leo Pirozhok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bertram Mooney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Leo Pirozhok!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Dmitry Maklakov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mooney defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pirozhok.
Mooney throws a counter high kick but Pirozhok was just alert enough to avoid it.
Pirozhok fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Leo Pirozhok seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mooney gets caught napping as Pirozhok dives in and scores a takedown. Mooney manages to retain guard.
Mooney is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Mooney manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pirozhok manages to get himself to full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mooney throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pirozhok works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Mooney has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mooney prevents Pirozhok from getting back to his feet.
Pirozhok looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Mooney is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Mooney trying to control but Pirozhok is working from the bottom.
Pirozhok looking to control but Mooney passes into half guard.
Mooney looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Pirozhok is trying to get back to full guard.
Mooney is looking to stall here but Pirozhok recovers full guard.
Mooney's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Pirozhok keeping moving, preventing Mooney from controlling successfully.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Mooney's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Pirozhok connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mooney scrambles back to his feet.

Mooney closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Mooney decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Pirozhok tries to bum rush Mooney with a series of wild strikes but Mooney uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mooney jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Pirozhok throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mooney.
Mooney feinted with a counter takedown.
Mooney stuffs the takedown attempt from Pirozhok. Pirozhok gets slowly back to his feet.
Bertram Mooney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leo Pirozhok.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pirozhok tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mooney sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pirozhok somewhat.
Pirozhok throws a head kick that Mooney semi-blocks.
Pirozhok bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Mooney's head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pirozhok fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Leo Pirozhok will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Mooney throws a quick counter kick to the body but Pirozhok avoids it.
Pirozhok fails to land the takedown.

Pirozhok fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mooney, pushing him back against the cage.

Pirozhok is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mooney stands up from Pirozhok's guard - Mooney perhaps looking for a knockout.
Pirozhok tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mooney swivels and escapes.
Mooney is looking to counter punch.
Bertram Mooney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leo Pirozhok.
Mooney tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pirozhok swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Leo Pirozhok is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Pirozhok moves into the clinch successfully.
Pirozhok misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Mooney.

Pirozhok fails to pull guard.
Mooney could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Mooney tries to pull guard but Pirozhok forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Pirozhok gets underhooks to prevent Mooney's takedown attempt.

Pirozhok pulls Mooney into guard.

Pirozhok is looking for a triangle here but Mooney uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Pirozhok is breathing heavily.

Mooney decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pirozhok tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mooney defends well and Pirozhok ends up having to push Mooney into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Pirozhok instigates a clinch.
Mooney trying to control the position but instead, Pirozhok has worked for underhooks and has pushed Mooney into the cage.
Pirozhok is trying to drag Mooney to the mat but Mooney just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Mooney turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mooney manages to end up in side control.
Pirozhok wants to get back to his feet but Mooney is dominant here and he's now got Pirozhok's back!

Mooney keeps control of the position as Pirozhok tries to break free.
Pirozhok trying to control the position but Mooney manages to sink in the hooks.
Mooney really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Pirozhok.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mooney throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Leo Pirozhok will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Mooney stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mooney wants it to stay on the feet.
Mooney throwing a counter right hand but Pirozhok manages to avoid it.
Mooney avoids the head kick by Pirozhok.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pirozhok.
Mooney was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Mooney manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Pirozhok on his heels. He'll look to pass Pirozhok's guard now, I'm sure.
Pirozhok is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Mooney dives into side control.

Mooney decides to stand back up. Mooney steps back and let's Pirozhok get back to his feet.

Pirozhok moves into the clinch successfully.

Mooney is trying to pull guard but Pirozhok turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Mooney has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Pirozhok tries to pull guard but Mooney holds him up against the cage and eventually Pirozhok drops back down to his feet.
Bertram Mooney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leo Pirozhok.
Mooney gets underhooks to prevent Pirozhok's takedown attempt.
Pirozhok takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Pirozhok's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Mooney checks a leg kick.
Mooney appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Mooney tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pirozhok paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Pirozhok feints and then cracks Mooney's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mooney down.

Pirozhok looks to land a combination but Mooney avoids it well.
Pirozhok shoots for a double leg takedown but Mooney sprawls well. He's pushed Pirozhok's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mooney is trying to pull guard but Pirozhok has him pressed against the cage.

Pirozhok moves into the clinch.
Pirozhok has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mooney after a bit of a struggle.
Mooney tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pirozhok just stands there and leans against the cage.

Pirozhok breaks from the clinch.
Pirozhok shoots for a double leg takedown but Mooney sprawls well. He's pushed Pirozhok's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mooney goes for a double leg but Pirozhok avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Pirozhok continues to drive forward.

Mooney closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mooney lands in his opponent's guard.

Pirozhok wriggles free and stands up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pirozhok dives in and grabs Mooney's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mooney pushes down on Pirozhok's head and hops out.
Mooney shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pirozhok as he jumps to the side.

Pirozhok instigates a clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Leo Pirozhok.
I've got Pirozhok winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
