Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cruz Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dough Cp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dough Cp will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cruz Ellis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dough Cp!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cp throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ellis tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cp swivels and escapes.
Cp wants to counter with a clinch but Ellis pushes him away.

Cp looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Ellis is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Cp dives into side control.

Ellis wants to control but Cp postures up.
Cp controls the position from side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cp lands an elbow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cp is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Ellis will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Cp is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ellis has escaped the position, nice work there.
Ellis struggling a bit here.
Cp is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Ellis's shoulder. That is not cool.
Cp's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Ellis stops Cp from passing to mount.
Ellis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cp trying to control the action but Ellis is working from the bottom.

Cp decides to stand back up. Cp steps back and let's Ellis get back to his feet.
Cp tries a low kick but Ellis avoids it.

Cp looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Ellis!
Ellis is not content to let Cp control the position.
I wouldn't like to be where Ellis is right now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cp is staying tight to Ellis's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Ellis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cp wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Ellis is trying to control Cp's posture but Cp avoids it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cp trying to control the position but Ellis is working away.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Cp landing a few strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ellis is trying to escape the position but Cp is controlling the position.
Cp fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Cp stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Cp shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ellis's guard.
Cp with a flurry of punches that miss.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cp controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cp postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dough Cp dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Ellis throws a nice looking combination but Cp bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Cp closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ellis did well to prevent Cp getting side control.

Cp missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Cp with the ground and pound but Ellis uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Ellis really is a fat lump.
Cp wants to pass the guard but Ellis is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cp throws an elbow that misses. Ellis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cp's guard. Nice move by Ellis!

Cp utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Cp looking to control but Ellis passes into half guard.
Cp has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Cp slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Cp has Ellis pulled in close to control his posture.
Ellis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Ellis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Cp is trying to control the position but Ellis postures up.
Cp pulls Ellis in close to prevent any damage.
Ellis throws a big right hand that misses.
Cp working a defensive guard but Ellis passes into half guard.
Ellis working over Cp with some ground and pound. Cp looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Cp has his hands clasped together around Ellis's back. He's all about the action.

Cp is looking for a sweep. Ellis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Cp throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Cp is doing well to control the position and prevent Ellis from advancing to side control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Cp closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
A lull in the action here as Cp stalls from top position.

Cp stands up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ellis throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ellis blocks a head kick by Cp.
Ellis is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Ellis throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A head kick misses from Cp.
It looked like Ellis was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Cp.

Cp closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ellis quickly recovers to half guard.

Cp is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ellis is just riding it out for now. Cp eventually gives up the hold.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cp in particular looking to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Dough Cp will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Cp looks to throw a body kick

Cp pulls out of a head kick attempt.
An attempted straight right counter from Ellis misses the target.

Cp has managed to clinch.
Ellis is trying to pull guard but Cp turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Cp blocks an uppercut.
Ellis has Cp pressed against the cage, preventing Cp from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Ellis tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cp just stands there and leans against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ellis fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cruz Ellis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cp gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Cp thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ellis's head.

Cp gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Cp moves into the clinch successfully.
Cp looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Ellis manages to pull guard.
Cp is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Cp postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ellis is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cp, into his guard.

Ellis has gone for a leg lock! Cp slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ellis's guard.

Cp controls from within his opponent's guard.
Cp pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ellis is keeping the position for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cp sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Ellis keeping full guard, as Cp tries to pass.
Cp not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cp prevents Ellis from getting back to his feet.

Cp drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ellis dives on top into guard.

Cp has his hands on Ellis's head, controlling the position.
Cp throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Cruz Ellis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dough Cp is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cp is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dough Cp comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cp has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
