The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Riggs manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Samaras on his heels. He'll look to pass Samaras's guard now, I'm sure.
Riggs passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Riggs cracks Samaras with a big right hand but Samaras just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Samaras tries to buck Riggs off but Riggs is having none of it.

Samaras is looking for a sweep.

Riggs is working to tighten his grip on Samaras's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Samaras has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Riggs is really squeezing tight and eventually Samaras passes out! Riggs breaks the hold and jumps onto the ropes to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Donovan Riggs decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
