Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between JD Killa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jens Pulver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Killa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pulver as he avoids it easily.
Killa moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Pulver tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Pulver feints and as Killa raises his hands in defense, Pulver changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Pulver decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Pulver will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Pulver bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Pulver decides to stand back up.
Killa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Killa throws a nice outside leg kick.

Pulver feints and as Killa raises his hands in defense, Pulver changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Killa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pulver decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Pulver rushes Killa and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Killa drags the fight down to the ground.
Pulver scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Killa is working an open guard so Pulver takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pulver connects with a nice short shot to Killa's temple.

Pulver wants to get up but he can't break Killa's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pulver is on top in guard.

Pulver is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Killa has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Killa closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Pulver has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Killa clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Pulver is trying to stick to Killa's back but Killa is turning into Pulver. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Pulver's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Killa.

Pulver working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Killa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Killa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Pulver lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Killa!

Pulver is going olschool here, as he tries to force Killa to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Killa shrugs it off.
Killa is desperately trying to improve his position but Pulver has a good base and remains in mount.
