Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Walton Serrano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alistar Overeem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walton Serrano has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Walton Serrano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alistar Overeem!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
A lazy body kick from Serrano
and Overeem counters with a good low kick that Serrano was not able to check.
Serrano is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Overeem appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Serrano shoots in looking for a takedown. Overeem tries to sprawl out of it but Serrano keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Overeem manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Serrano shoots in but no luck this time.
Serrano fails with a takedown attempt.

Overeem pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Serrano.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Serrano is defended easily by Overeem.
Overeem appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Serrano is breathing heavily.
Serrano shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Overeem counters with a slapping leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alistar Overeem dominated that round.

Serrano darts in trying to clinch

and Overeem counters with a nice right hand that sends Serrano toppling to the canvas! Serrano scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Overeem finish him?!


It looks like Walton Serrano has been cut.
Serrano shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Overeem appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Serrano shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Overeem sprawls well. Overeem wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Serrano gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Serrano shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Overeem counters with a leg kick.

Serrano tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Overeem tries a quick counter leg kick but Serrano is wise to it.
Serrano shoots in and drives through. Overeem sprawls well.

Serrano shoots and misses
and Overeem counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Serrano dives in and grabs Overeem's left leg, looking for a takedown. Overeem pushes down on Serrano's head and hops out.
Serrano backing away here, and Overeem unleashes a leg kick that just misses.

Serrano tries to clinch up
and Overeem counters with a low kick, right behind Serrano 's knee.
Serrano tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Overeem defends well and Serrano ends up having to push Overeem into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Overeem was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Serrano doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Overeem counters with a nice right hand that sends Serrano toppling to the canvas! Serrano scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Overeem finish him?!


Serrano is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alistar Overeem showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Walton Serrano's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Serrano closes the distance but Overeem moves to the side
and Overeem counters with a slapping leg kick.
Oh Serrano is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

and Overeem counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
