The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heath feints and then cracks McAdams's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow McAdams down.
Heath defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McAdams.
McAdams fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
As McAdams backs away, Heath returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

McAdams drives through with a takedown into guard.

Heath has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Heath is squirming around, avoiding McAdams's attempts to control the action.

McAdams goes for an armbar but Heath turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Heath.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Horrible takedown attempt by McAdams or perhaps it was just good defense by Heath, which made it look bad.
McAdams throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Heath.

Heath bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Heath throws a leg kick which misses McAdams's front leg but catches the back leg as McAdams tries to avoid it.
