PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Uncle Creepy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kira Miyata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Miyata's choice of entrance music: Boa - Energetic. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Uncle Creepy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kira Miyata!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Creepy throws a lazy right hand but Miyata sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Creepy scores with a three punch combo!
Miyata lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Creepy misses with a two punch combination.

Miyata shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Creepy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miyata lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Miyata is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Miyata working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Miyata stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Creepy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Miyata controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Miyata tries to free his leg and advance position but Creepy is retaining full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Creepy is on top in guard.

Miyata is pulling down on Creepy's head. It's preventing any offense from Creepy, at least for the moment.
Miyata has momentary wrist control but Creepy slips an elbow through the middle.
Miyata is trying to control the position but Creepy postures up.
Creepy postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Miyata not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Creepy controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Miyata has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Creepy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Creepy wants to control from the top but Miyata keeps moving.
Creepy wants to pass the guard but Miyata is keeping the position.

Creepy keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Miyata's head.

Miyata had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Creepy defends it easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Creepy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Miyata thuds a left hand into Creepy's body.
Miyata walks into a stiff left hand from Creepy.
Miyata misses with a straight left.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A combination from Miyata does no damage.
Miyata has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Kira Miyata has been cut.
Miyata swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Uncle Creepy dominated that round.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Miyata changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Miyata throws a hook to the side of Creepy's head but Creepy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
An attempted straight right counter from Creepy misses the target.
Miyata throws the left hand but Creepy avoids the punch easily.
Creepy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Creepy is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Miyata lands the left hand.
Creepy pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Miyata scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Creepy doesn't seem bothered though.
We've been told by Creepy's head coaches at LOD London Top Tier that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Creepy throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Creepy throws out a loose jab but Miyata uses good head movement to avoid it.
Creepy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Miyata moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Miyata throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Creepy counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Miyata is lucky that one didn't land flush.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Creepy throws a hook to the side of Miyata's head but Miyata sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Miyata is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Miyata has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Miyata there as he acknowledges the shot.
Uncle Creepy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Creepy takes one to the chin there.
A jab from Miyata finds it's way through Creepy's defenses.
Kira Miyata seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Creepy keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Miyata.
It looked like Creepy wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Creepy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Miyata throws out the jab.
Miyata lunges at Creepy with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Creepy's hand.
Miyata throws out a loose jab but Creepy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Creepy throws a series of punches but Miyata avoids them all with ease.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Miyata moves into range and connects with a jab.
Creepy tries to clinch up but Miyata circles away and keeps his distance.

Creepy slips a straight right by Miyata.
Miyata swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kira Miyata seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Creepy lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Miyata bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Miyata might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Miyata walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Creepy on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Miyata dodges the punch combination from Creepy.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Miyata! But no joy.

Miyata lands a slapping body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Miyata. Creepy does a little dance to reset his feet.
Miyata looks to score with a jab to the body but Creepy is just out of range.
Creepy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Creepy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Miyata as he avoids it easily.

Creepy looks to land a body kick but Miyata moved away.

Creepy is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Miyata shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Creepy is on queer street and Miyata is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Kira Miyata!
After winning the bout, Kira Miyata thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
