PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hundo Varga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugh Jaskok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hugh Jaskok!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Varga shoots in for a takedown but Jaskok shows good takedown defense.
Jaskok let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Varga closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Varga throws out a loose jab but Jaskok uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jaskok digs a good body shot into Varga's ribs.
Varga has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Jaskok connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Jaskok looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Jaskok and Varga goes tumbling to the canvas! Jaskok follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

Varga is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jaskok looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Oh Varga is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Varga seems to have got his legs back now.
Varga wants to get back to full guard but Jaskok has passed into side control.

Jaskok avoids the strikes from the bottom by Varga.

Jaskok is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Varga is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Jaskok tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Varga wants to control but Jaskok postures up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Varga is looking to regain half guard here but Jaskok keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jaskok is trying to get an arm triangle but Varga is defending well.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Jaskok has an Americana. Varga didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Jaskok is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Jaskok hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
