The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hett definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Hett swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hett will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Boyfriend is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Hett with a body shot.
Boyfriend lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hett circles away quickly and effectively.
Hett tries to counter with a takedown but Boyfriend is quick to defend against it.
Boyfriend is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hett.
Hett attempts a counter takedown but Boyfriend avoids it well and moves away.

Hett has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Boyfriend wants to sweep but no luck.
Hett looking to sit in guard and control but Boyfriend gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

My spies in Bonsai Club MMA inform me that Boyfriend has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Daniel Boyfriend seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boyfriend throws a series of punches but Hett moves out of range.

As Hett backs off Boyfriend throws a huge counter combo but Hett manages to avoid it all.
Hett fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hett closes the distance and clinches up with Boyfriend, looking for a takedown. Hett pushes Boyfriend against the cage but Boyfriend circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Daniel Boyfriend is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Hett wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Hett takes a swing at Boyfriend's ribcage but misses.
Hett walks into a straight right hand from Boyfriend.
Boyfriend lands a nice looking body shot.
Boyfriend connects with a looping right hand.
Boyfriend connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hett. Hett circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Boyfriend cracks Hett with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Hett looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Boyfriend finish him?

Hett is rocked!
Hett fails to land the takedown.
Boyfriend is looking for the big counter here.
Oh Hett is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hett seems to have got his legs back now.
Hett gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Boyfriend gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Hett is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
