Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tim Fogg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Marks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tim Fogg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jay Marks!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fogg misses with a takedown attempt
and Marks makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Marks looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Fogg tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Marks was well out of range. Poor timing from Fogg.
Marks slaps away a takedown attempt from Fogg, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Marks tries to counter by closing the distance.
Fogg fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Fogg. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fogg has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fogg landing some nice looking knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fogg changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Marks fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Marks tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fogg paws at him with a jab and circles away.
As Marks looks to move away, Fogg throws a big counter combo but Marks just gets out of the way.
Marks takes a head kick and keeps coming.


It looks like Jay Marks has been cut.

Fogg takes the fight into the clinch.

Fogg unloads a knee to the mid-section. Marks lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Fogg manages to break the clinch.
Fogg tries to bum rush Marks with a series of wild strikes but Marks uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Fogg shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Marks defends it nicely.

Fogg stuffs the takedown attempt from Marks. Marks gets slowly back to his feet.

Fogg instigates a clinch.

Fogg breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Fogg closes the distance and clinches.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fogg tries to score a body lock takedown but Marks shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Fogg pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Marks looks to throw a body kick
and Fogg cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Fogg is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Marks.
Fogg shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Marks but Marks pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Marks leaves Fogg with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Marks throws a counter combo.
Fogg shoots for a takedown but Marks saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Marks misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Fogg.
Marks tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fogg swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Fogg shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Marks but Marks pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Marks fails in his attempt to clinch.

Fogg drives through and clinches with Marks against the cage.
Fogg swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Marks tries to land knees in the clinch but Fogg avoids the damage to the body.

Fogg manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Fogg has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Marks loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

As Marks looks to move away, Fogg throws a big counter combo but Marks just gets out of the way.

Fogg fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Marks, pushing him back against the cage.

Fogg breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Fogg staying out of range there.
Fogg is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Marks can do to turn this around?
Fogg tries for a takedown but Marks sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Fogg throws a head kick that half lands.
Sloppy strikes from Fogg. Those never looked like landing.
Marks defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fogg.

Marks shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fogg as he avoids it easily.
Marks's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Fogg connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Marks scrambles back to his feet.

Fogg closes the distance and clinches.
Fogg's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Fogg has Marks pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Marks manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Fogg prevents a takedown attempt there.
We've been informed that Marks has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Fogg jumps into guard, dragging Marks to the mat.
Marks throws a big elbow that misses.
Marks seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Marks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fogg swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fogg is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Marks must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Fogg pulls Marks in close to prevent any damage.
Marks wanted to stand there but Fogg had control of the position.
Marks is fighting to break Fogg's control of his arms but Fogg is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Fogg closes the distance and clinches.
Fogg is pushing Marks up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Marks is trying to pull guard but Fogg has him pressed against the cage.

Fogg jumps guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fogg throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Marks trying to control the position from guard on top but Fogg is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Marks has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fogg is proving hard to escape from.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Fogg tries to clinch up but Marks circles away and keeps his distance.
Marks with the counter takedown but Fogg avoids it easily.

Fogg breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Marks stuffs the takedown.

Marks gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Jay Marks has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Fogg manages to pull guard.

Fogg looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Marks won't allow Fogg to sweep him here.
Marks stays in close to Fogg's body and controls the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Tim Fogg is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Fogg has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
