Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robin Estrada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dustin West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robin Estrada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dustin West!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

West closes the distance and clinches.
Estrada is looking for a takedown up against the cage. West gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Estrada is trying to drag West to the mat but West just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

West pulls guard effortlessly.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
West is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
West is looking to stand back up but Estrada counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by West.

West is refusing to be controlled, as Estrada sits in half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Estrada is keen to just control but West is a slippery customer.
West controlling the position well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
West is trying to get back to full guard.
Estrada is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Estrada tries to push off, looking to stand up, but West manages to move to mount!

Estrada is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

West jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Estrada is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Estrada and West has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Estrada is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but West is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

West throws some wild stikes that Estrada manages to avoid easily.

West tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

West stands up from mount. Strange move.
Estrada tries to clinch up but West circles away and keeps his distance.

West drives through and clinches with Estrada against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

West has hold of one of Estrada's legs. Estrada is fighting the takedown attempt but West gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Estrada will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
West missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dustin West dominated that round.
That's time! Estrada's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Estrada doesn't manage to clinch there - West circles away.
Estrada shoots in looking for a takedown. West tries to sprawl out of it but Estrada keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. West manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
West misses with a head kick.
West keeps the fight on the outside.
Dustin West is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Estrada is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Estrada tries to clinch but West moves out of range.

Estrada has West pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. West manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

West manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Estrada is fighting to break West's control of his arms but West is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Estrada has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
West keeping moving, preventing Estrada from controlling successfully.
West wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Dustin West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Estrada tries to counter by clinching up but West breaks away and moves out of range.

West rushes Estrada and presses him up against the cage.
Estrada tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. West smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robin Estrada. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Estrada closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
West effectively controlling the action here.
West is trying to force a seperation but Estrada has the dominant position.

West has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Estrada uses from the top position.
West can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Estrada controls the pace.

West seems keen to control Estrada's posture.
West is continuing to stall.
West wants to stand and escape but Estrada is having none of it.

Dustin West showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



West moves into the clinch.

West has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Estrada clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Estrada really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
West is trying to stick to Estrada's back but Estrada is turning into West. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in West's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Estrada.

Estrada drops back looking for a leg! West is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and West manages to kick Estrada off! Estrada jumps back into West's guard.

West escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Estrada gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
West wants to get back to his feet but Estrada is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Estrada thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
West throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Estrada drops back looking for a leg! West is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and West manages to kick Estrada off! Estrada jumps back into West's guard.

West is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

West shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Estrada napping and manages to drive through into side control!
A lull in the action here as West stalls from top position.

West is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Estrada knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Estrada tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but West wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

West decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Estrada looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for West!
West is trying to improve his position.

Estrada is looking to take a break and control but West is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

I would just about give that final round to Dustin West.
Well West has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
