A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves misses with a right hand

and Stark counters with a shoot takedown. Alves fights it but they end up in guard.
Stark passes Alves 's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Stark seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Alves is trying to control but can't.
Alves keeping hold of Stark's head, controlling as best he can.
Alves moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Alves is on top in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stark working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alves doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Stark is tightening it up a little... Alves has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Alves reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Alves taps out! Nice BJJ there by Stark!

After the fight, Steven Stark was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
