Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Mack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mack comes to the cage accompanied by DMX (Ruff Ryders Anthem). Jim Mack has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roberto Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Mack scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Gracie takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Gracie takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Mack connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
A combination from Mack does no damage.
Mack throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gracie does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Gracie slips under a jab from Mack.
Mack throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely.
Mack fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gracie manages to avoid it.

Gracie blocks a jab.
Mack scores with a punch to the head.
Mack connects with a right hand. Gracie shakes it off.
Mack throws a looping overhand right but Gracie ducks down to avoid it.
Jim Mack is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mack stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Gracie.
A punch lands to the side of Gracie 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Mack goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Roberto Gracie has been cut.
A slow jab from Mack misses its intended target.
Mack misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gracie drops his hands momentarily and Mack takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Jim Mack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mack lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Gracie fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Gracie on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Mack throws a one two combo.
Gracie fails to land the takedown.
Mack throws a hook but Gracie avoids it easily.
Mack connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Mack is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Gracie.
Mack swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Gracie.
Mack throws a one two combo.
Mack fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gracie looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Mack is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Gracie tries to move into range but Mack moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Oooh a lovely combination from Mack sends Gracie down but not out. Mack dives into side control looking to finish.


Gracie is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gracie takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Gracie is still in real trouble! Can Mack finish him?
Gracie sneaks back into half guard.

Gracie looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Gracie seems to have recovered his senses.
Gracie looks gassed!
Gracie is trying to get back to full guard.

Mack thows a huge punch but Gracie dodges it nicely.

Gracie looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Mack is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Gracie has hold of Mack's hands but Mack slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Mack wants to stand up but Gracie is controlling the position.
Gracie gets full guard.
Mack has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mack fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mack throws a shot from downtown. Gracie moves away and avoids it.
Gracie takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Gracie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Mack on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mack tries to get out of the position.

Mack is staying active underneath Gracie, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Gracie stalling.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mack moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Gracie stopping the sweep attempt from Mack.
Mack throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Gracie stands and throws Mack's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Mack tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gracie wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mack knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Mack misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Mack prevents Gracie from moving into mount.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gracie advances nicely into full mount.
Gracie is breathing heavily.

Gracie with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Gracie is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mack has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Mack sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Mack makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mack.
Mack throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Mack wants to stand but Gracie is controlling the position.

Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Mack throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Gracie trying to control but Mack is working from the bottom.
Mack knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
Mack wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mack keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mack looks to land a combination. Gracie sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
The fighters circle momentarily. Mack darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Mack lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Gracie uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mack.
Mack misses with a jab, cross combination.

Gracie looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mack lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mack misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mack throws an overhand right that lands on Gracie's shoulder, as Gracie tries to avoid the shot.
Mack works Gracie's body with a nice hook.
Gracie dodges the punch combination from Mack.
Mack looks to land a combination but Gracie avoids it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Mack misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mack jabs Gracie right on the nose. Gracie blinks but takes it well.
Mack fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Gracie on the side of the head.
Mack misses with the combination.
Mack rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gracie moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mack throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mack bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Mack throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease.

Jim Mack is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mack lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Gracie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jim Mack is winning the standup battle so far.
Gracie takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Mack is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gracie can do to turn this around?
Gracie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
A left and a right from Mack both land. Nice combination.
No luck for Gracie with that takedown attempt.
Jim Mack has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roberto Gracie.
Gracie with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Mack to score with a decent uppercut.

Gracie has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Mack misses with a two punch combination.
Gracie gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Gracie takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Mack scores with a sloppy right hand. Gracie should have avoided that one.
Mack stuffs the takedown attempt from Gracie. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mack but Mack pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mack throws a combination. Gracie tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Mack goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Mack jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Mack lands with a nice combination. Gracie backs away looking to recover.

Jim Mack is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Mack fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Gracie on the side of the head.
Mack connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Gracie takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Well Mack has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
