Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jarvis Booth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raymond Conn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jarvis Booth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Raymond Conn!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conn gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Booth counters by clinching up.
Booth is trying to drag Conn to the mat but Conn just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Conn escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Conn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Booth is looking to counter the offense by Conn and move into the clinch.
Conn fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Booth avoids it really well and circles away.
It looked like Booth was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Jarvis Booth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raymond Conn.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Conn clinches with his opponent.

Booth tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Conn just stands there and leans against the cage.
Booth has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Booth prevents a takedown attempt there.

Conn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Booth moves out of range as Conn strikes.
Conn fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Conn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Booth sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Conn somewhat.
Conn misses with the body kick

and Booth counters with a nice double leg into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Booth is stalling in the full guard.
Booth working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Booth throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Conn works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Booth postures up in Conn's guard and throws a big left but Conn blocks it.

Booth's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Booth content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Booth is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Booth stands up and waves to Conn to follow him.
Conn throws a sloppy head kick and Booth moves out of range easily.
As Conn tries to get set, Booth tries to push him back and clinch up but Conn manages to avoid the attempt.

and Conn counters with a two punch combo.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Conn fails in his attempt to clinch.
Conn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Booth sprawls well. Booth wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Conn gets slowly back to his feet.
Conn looks winded!
Conn throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Booth counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Booth seems to be working for a kimura but Conn defends the submission attempt.
Conn makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Conn.

Booth stands up from Conn's guard - Booth perhaps looking for a knockout.
Conn goes for a double leg but Booth avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Booth continues to drive forward.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Booth shoots in looking for a takedown. Conn tries to sprawl out of it but Booth keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Conn manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Conn tries to clinch but Booth moves away

and Booth counters with a takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Conn tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Booth in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Conn is looking to regain half guard here but Booth keeps moving and retains side control.
Booth has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Booth throws an elbow but Conn slips to the side and avoids it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Conn throws a combination that misses

and Booth counters with a single leg into guard. Conn didn't expect that.
Booth throws a big elbow that misses.
Conn trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Booth accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Booth is working Conn over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Booth seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Booth stands and steps away. Conn gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Booth changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Conn looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Conn wants to get back to his feet but Booth drags him back down.

Booth lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Conn down.

Booth has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Conn is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Booth yanks on the arm and Conn is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Booth.
