Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Junior Vilson!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dickinson uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Vilson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Vilson.
Dickinson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Vilson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Vilson gets caught flat footed, as Dickinson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Dickinson showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Dickinson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Vilson is keeping the position for now.
Dickinson looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dickinson trying to control the position from guard on top but Vilson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Dickinson trying to move into half guard but instead Vilson has managed to sweep!

Vilson passes Dickinson's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Dickinson wants to improve his position but Vilson is controlling well.
Dickinson is working hard here to advance position.
Dickinson has a hand on Vilson's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Vilson takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Dickinson tries to lock up and control but Vilson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Dickinson is trying to escape the mount.
Vilson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Dickinson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Vilson looking to control and managing it successfully.
Dickinson tries to hold on but Vilson postures up.

Dickinson can't escape the position.
Dickinson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Dickinson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vilson pulls his head out easily.
Dickinson is looking for a sweep. Vilson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Dickinson trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Vilson manages to pass to mount!
Dickinson is desperately trying to improve his position but Vilson has a good base and remains in mount.

Vilson controlling from the full mount.
Vilson punching from mount but Dickinson doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Dickinson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Dickinson tries to lock up and control but Vilson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Vilson tries to control but Dickinson wriggling away.
Dickinson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dickinson is looking to improve his position but Vilson isn't that keen on the idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Junior Vilson dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A jab from Vilson does it's job there.
Vilson lands a glancing blow to the side of Dickinson's head.
Dickinson shoots in for a double leg but Vilson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Vilson doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Dickinson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Vilson thuds his right hand into Dickinson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Vilson misses with a hook. Dickinson ducked under it nicely.
Dickinson shoots in looking for a takedown. Vilson tries to sprawl out of it but Dickinson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Vilson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Dickinson tries to clinch there but Vilson circles away.
Dickinson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Vilson throws a lazy right hand but Dickinson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Dickinson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Dickinson jumps guard but Vilson stands there with Dickinson around his waist. Dickinson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Dickinson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dickinson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Vilson misses with a hook to the ribs.
Dickinson wants a takedown but no success here.
Vilson throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Dickinsons head.
A left hand lands to the body for Vilson.
Dickinson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vilson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Vilson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dickinson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Vilson looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Vilson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Vilson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Vilson is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Vilson connects with a nice looking jab.


Dickinson is rocked!
Vilson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Oh Dickinson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Vilson drops Dickinson with a naaaaasty hook - Dickinson is in real trouble here! Vilson dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Junior Vilson!
Junior Vilson is the new featherweight champion!
Junior Vilson decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
