Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kirby Robbins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kashmhir Bakr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kashmhir Bakr has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kirby Robbins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kashmhir Bakr!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robbins showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bakr.
Bakr avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bakr wants to counter with a clinch but Robbins pushes him away.
Bakr throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
No luck for Bakr with that takedown attempt.

Robbins changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bakr looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Robbins content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Robbins is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bakr is just riding it out for now. Robbins eventually gives up the hold.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Robbins slows the pace down in half guard.
Robbins is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Robbins takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Robbins thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bakr's head.
Robbins is taking a breather. Bakr says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Robbins is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Robbins working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bakr takes a swing at Robbins's ribcage but misses.

and Bakr counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Robbins gets control of Bakr's arms and successfully pulls guard. Robbins will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Robbins throws an elbow that misses. Bakr uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Robbins's guard. Nice move by Bakr!

Bakr feints a jab promting Robbins to slip. Bakr then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Robbins slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Kirby Robbins has been cut.
Bakr darts in looking for a takedown but Robbins gets double underhooks and turns Bakr into the cage.
No luck for Robbins with that takedown attempt.
Robbins stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Robbins wants it to stay on the feet.
Robbins leaves Bakr with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kirby Robbins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kashmhir Bakr.

Robbins's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Robbins shoots in and bounces Bakr off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Robbins is in close to Bakr's body, working some short punches and elbows.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Robbins shoots in for a takedown but Bakr shows good takedown defense.
Robbins tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bakr defends well and Robbins ends up having to push Bakr into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Robbins shoots for a double leg takedown but Bakr sprawls well. He's pushed Robbins's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Robbins fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bakr, pushing him back against the cage.

Bakr postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Robbins is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bakr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Robbins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bakr can do anything to dispel that myth.

Robbins has control of Bakr's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bakr regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Bakr is bucking up trying to escape but Robbins cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Robbins loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Bakr scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Robbins land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Robbins stands and salutes the crowd.
