Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Dawson is looking to escape.
Jones is looking to take a break and control but Dawson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jones is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Jones working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Dawson has hold of Jones's hands but Jones slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

It looked like Dawson was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Dawson has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Jones is on him like a limpet, forcing Dawson back against the cage.

Jones turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Jones manages to end up in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Dawson here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters circle, before Dawson throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Jones's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Dawson lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
