Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Quintin Jacobs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Timmy Jones!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jacobs looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jacobs tries to bench press Jones off him but Jones keeps the position.
Jones tries to move into full mount but can't pass Jacobs's legs.
Jones in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Jones stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Jones throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jacobs was covering up waiting for the punch and Jones finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jacobs's head.

Jones stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jacobs's guard.
Jacobs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jacobs is pulling down on Jones's head to control his posture.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Jones leaves Jacobs with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Jacobs gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jones to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Jacobs escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jones is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jacobs lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Jones scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Jones stuffs the takedown.

Jones drives through with a takedown into Jacobs's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jones slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Jones lands a couple of digs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Jones works Jacobs's body with a nice hook.

Jones throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jacobs tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jones is in Jacobs's guard.

Jones gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones decides to stand and escape the position.

Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jones working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Jones is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jacobs knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Jones moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Jones decides to stand back up. Jones steps back and let's Jacobs get back to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jacobs is defended easily by Jones.

Jones decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Jones content to control rather than advance.
Jones is thwarting Jacobs's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.


Jacobs is rocked!
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jones lands a nice short elbow.
Oh Jacobs is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Timmy Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jones tries to pass to full mount but Jacobs defends it.
Jones not doing much here.

Jones decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Jones scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Jones stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jacobs looks for the body kick but Jones saw that one coming.

Jacobs gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jones is breathing heavily.

Jones stands up from Jacobs's guard - Jones perhaps looking for a knockout.

Timmy Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Jones lands a head kick. Jacobs smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Jones lands a brutal head kick. Jacobs looks out on his feet and Jones throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
