Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Philo Beddo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nasko Stefanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Philo Beddo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nasko Stefanov!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stefanov misses with a head kick.
Beddo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Stefanov.
Beddo changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Stefanov avoids the head kick by Beddo.
Beddo swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Stefanov swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Stefanov lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Beddo clinches up with Stefanov and pushes him back against the cage.
Beddo has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Stefanov avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Stefanov scores with a nice short uppercut.
I was talking to Beddo's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Beddo throws a punch but it's blocked by Stefanov.
Stefanov gets underhooks to prevent Beddo's takedown attempt.

Beddo drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Beddo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Stefanov throws a body shot but no joy.
Beddo goes for a double leg but Stefanov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Stefanov continues to drive forward.
Philo Beddo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Beddo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Stefanov buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Stefanov swings for the body but Beddo moves out of range.

A little jabbing left from Stefanov on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Nasko Stefanov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stefanov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Good standup being displayed there by Beddo as he connects with a hook.
Beddo uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Stefanov.
Beddo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Stefanov makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Beddo takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Stefanov lands a right hook to the body.
Stefanov throws a wild body kick that Beddo sees coming a mile off.

Beddo moves out of range as Stefanov strikes.
A slow jab from Stefanov misses its intended target.
Beddo throws a lazy uppercut
and Stefanov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Beddo was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Stefanov lets loose with a powerful body kick. Beddo will feel that in the morning.
Beddo uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Beddo misses the jab.
Beddo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Beddo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Beddo throws a body shot but no joy.
A shot to the liver by Stefanov. Beautiful body shot.
Beddo shoots in for a takedown but Stefanov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Beddo takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Stefanov misses with a two punch combination.
No luck for Beddo with that takedown attempt.
Stefanov throws a quick inside leg kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Beddo is defended easily by Stefanov.

and Beddo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Beddo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stefanov works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Stefanov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Beddo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Stefanov avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stefanov working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Beddo.

Beddo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stefanov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Beddo's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Beddo engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Beddo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Stefanov preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Beddo is stalling in the full guard.
Beddo postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nasko Stefanov dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Beddo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stefanov tries to avoid it but Beddo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stefanov to the ground. Stefanov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Philo Beddo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Stefanov throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Beddo's head.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stefanov throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Beddo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Beddo wants to free his trapped foot but Stefanov is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Beddo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stefanov is just riding it out for now. Beddo eventually gives up the hold.

Beddo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Stefanov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Beddo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Stefanov wants to control but Beddo is keeping busy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Stefanov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beddo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Beddo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Beddo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That was a close second round but I would say that Philo Beddo will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Stefanov will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Beddo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stefanov can do anything to dispel that myth.
