Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hifives Ghost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Melvin Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hifives Ghost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Melvin Morris!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Kavanagh and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morris throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ghost cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A slow jab from Ghost misses its intended target.
Ghost has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Morris looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ghost is fending him off so far but Morris persists. Nope, Ghost circles away and we're back to standing.
Morris shoots for a takedown but Ghost saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ghost connects with a single shot there.
A head kick misses from Morris.

Ghost dodges the punch combination from Morris.
Ghost keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Morris throws a series of punches but Ghost avoids them all with ease.

Morris walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Morris tries to clinch but Ghost is having none of it.
Morris fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

and Ghost counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Ghost is nestled in close to Morris, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Ghost prevents Morris from improving his position.

Ghost tries to pass the half guard into mount. Morris knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Morris is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ghost defends well.
Ghost makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Morris has momentary wrist control but Ghost slips an elbow through the middle.
Ghost wants to control from the top but Morris keeps moving.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ghost throws a big elbow that misses.

Morris had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ghost defends it easily.

Ghost got a little sloppy there for a moment and Morris has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ghost has managed to get both his arms back between Morris's legs - danger averted.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hifives Ghost dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Ghost throws a head kick that half lands.
Morris throws a right and a left that Ghost avoids nicely.
Ghost fails with a takedown attempt.
Ghost dives in for a single leg takedown but Morris sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.

and Ghost counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Morris!
Hifives Ghost overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Morris is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ghost connects with a decent elbow.
Morris is looking to regain half guard here but Ghost keeps moving and retains side control.
Morris is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Morris tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ghost wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Ghost is just content to waste time from the top position. Morris takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Ghost is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Morris has escaped the position, nice work there.
Ghost connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Morris some visible discomfort.

Ghost is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Morris can do to turn this around?

A big strike lands for Ghost! That's really hurt Morris and he's turned his back - Ghost keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Ghost jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
