Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Maurice Jenkins!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Blue Kandle!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jenkins looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Kandle has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Jenkins is on him like a limpet, forcing Kandle back against the cage.
The referee calls for Jenkins to work.
Kandle prevents a takedown attempt there.
Kandle prevents the takedown attempt.
Jenkins fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maurice Jenkins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kandle misses with a punch to the body.
Jenkins can't get the takedown.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kandle.
Kandle tries to throw a body punch but Jenkins avoids it by throwing Kandle back against the cage.
Kandle gets underhooks to prevent Jenkins's takedown attempt.
Jenkins drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kandle gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Jenkins keeps control of Kandle as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Kandle can't break the clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Jenkins prevents Kandle from breaking the clinch.
Jenkins is trying to pull guard but Kandle turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Kandle tries to break free but Jenkins pushes him back against the cage.

Jenkins turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Jenkins is trying to get an arm triangle but Kandle is defending well.
Kandle is looking to reverse the position.
Kandle is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Kandle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jenkins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
You can see the frustration on Kandle's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Kandle gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Jenkins looking for a guillotine from mount but Kandle is having none of it.
Kandle is squirming around, avoiding Jenkins's attempts to control the action.
Kandle avoids a series of strikes thrown by Jenkins.
Kandle is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Jenkins jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Kandle is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Kandle and Jenkins has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Jenkins is looking to take a break and control but Kandle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jenkins wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kandle, who protects the arm well.

Jenkins is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kandle knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jenkins is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kandle has escaped the position, nice work there.
Jenkins postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Jenkins has hold of Kandle's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kandle seems comfortable defending it but Jenkins has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kandle is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kandle is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Jenkins couldn't care less - he's delighted!
