PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chad Sorenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aaron Cooper told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chad Sorenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Cooper!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and Bruno Lombardi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Sorenson!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Cooper breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sorenson takes one on the button.
Sorenson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Cooper counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Cooper paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Sorenson goes for a double leg but Cooper avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cooper continues to drive forward.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Cooper! But no joy.
Cooper looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Chad Sorenson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cooper scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Sorenson is rocked!
Sorenson tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Cooper counters with a right hand to the body.
Oh Sorenson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Some bone on bone action there as Cooper checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Sorenson seems to have got his legs back now.
Cooper throws a monster overhand right that drops Sorenson! Cooper follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

After winning the bout, Aaron Cooper thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
