The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abner uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Zuev .
As Zuev tries to get set, Abner tries to push him back and clinch up but Zuev manages to avoid the attempt.
Zuev throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Zuev 's coach down at KING OF PAIN was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Zuev 's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Abner seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Zuev might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Abner moves forwards but Zuev connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Abner is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Zuev 's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Zuev , as that shot connected.
Oh Abner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Abner gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Zuev gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Konstantin Zuev !
In his post fight interview, Konstantin Zuev started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
