The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Illya Tyunina and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aanes gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hill working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Aanes wants to sweep here but Hill controlling him for the moment.
Hill cracks Aanes with a solid left hand.
Hill has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Aanes looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hill has picked Aanes up and slammed him! Aanes can't keep hold of the triangle and Hill manages to pass to side control!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hill lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Aanes circles away quickly and effectively.

Hill looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Aanes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Aanes is breathing heavily.
Hill sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Hill wants to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Aanes misses with a head shot. Hill uses the momentum to regain guard.
Aanes controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Hill is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Aanes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hill. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hill thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Aanes's head.
Aanes has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hill is working away from the top position though.

Hill seems to be working for a kimura but Aanes defends the submission attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Hill is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Aanes has managed to free his arm - good work.
Hill sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Aanes defending well though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hill is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Aanes sees it coming and defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Hill throws a series of punches but Aanes avoids them all with ease.
Hill showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Aanes.
Nice sprawl there from Aanes as Hill shoots in.
Hill is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Aanes.


It looks like Jermaine Hill has been cut.

Aanes closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Aanes lands in his opponent's guard.

Hill pushes Aanes off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Aanes is keen to just control but Hill is a slippery customer.

Hill bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Aanes's guard.

Aanes trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Hill missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Aanes isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hill stacks Aanes on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hill!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hill, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
