Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patricia Preston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan has chosen T.N.T. as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Patricia Preston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jake Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Preston keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Ryan digs a good hook to Preston's body.
Ryan lands a nice shot to the body.
Ryan throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Preston counters by moving into the clinch.

Ryan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Patricia Preston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Preston avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Preston takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Preston is looking to clinch but Ryan is avoiding it.
Ryan wants to counter the offense by Preston and move into the clinch position.
Preston on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Ryan throws a head kick but Preston moves out of range.
Preston is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Ryan.
Preston could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

and Ryan counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Preston is pulling down on Ryan's head. It's preventing any offense from Ryan, at least for the moment.
Preston trying to control the position.
Ryan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Preston is keeping the position for now.
Ryan trying to control the position from guard on top but Preston is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ryan works over Preston with some ground and pound from guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Preston is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Preston is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Preston is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Preston continues to stall.
Ryan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ryan tries to clinch there but Preston circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ryan moves into range and connects with a jab.

Preston instigates a clinch.
Ryan with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Preston prevents Ryan from breaking the clinch.

Ryan gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Preston manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Ryan keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Ryan is fighting off a takedown attempt but Preston is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Ryan to the mat. Ryan regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Ryan kicks Preston off and gets to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ryan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Preston to the mat! Preston manages to get full guard.
Ryan tries to stand but Preston is controlling from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Preston looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ryan is one step ahead there.

Ryan stands and steps away. Preston gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Preston pushes Ryan up against the cage in a clinch.
Preston drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Ryan pulls guard effortlessly.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Ryan dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ryan tries to clinch but Preston moves out of range.
Ryan pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Preston back to the cage. Ryan follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Patricia Preston has been cut.
Ryan's corner calls for a 1-2. Ryan obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Ryan swats away the attempt to clinch by Preston.
Preston wants to clinch up but Ryan keeps it at a distance.
Ryan wants to counter with a clinch but Preston pushes him away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ryan moves into range and clinches up with Preston.
Ryan wants to break the clinch but can't.

Ryan gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Preston makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

As Preston backs off Ryan throws a huge counter combo but Preston manages to avoid it all.
Ryan scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Preston closes the distance and pushes Ryan back into the cage.

Ryan has Preston pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ryan pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Preston tumbling to the mat - Ryan dives into Preston's guard.

Preston pushes Ryan off and gets back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ryan tries to close the distance and clinch but Preston swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Preston tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Ryan counters with a nice uppercut.

Preston closes the distance and clinches.
Ryan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ryan has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Preston regains guard immediately.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ryan is looking to advance position but Preston has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!


Preston is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Ryan is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ryan throws a nice looking combination but Preston bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ryan lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Ryan is breathing heavily.
Preston fails in his attempt to clinch.
A nice side step and Ryan releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Preston closes the distance and pushes Ryan back into the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Preston is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Preston's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Preston tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ryan swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Preston is looking to clinch but Ryan is avoiding it.
Ryan keeps the fight on the outside.
Ryan pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Preston back to the cage. Ryan follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Preston is looking to clinch.

Preston moves into the clinch.
Preston is looking to take this one to the mat.
Preston tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patricia Preston. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ryan breaks from the clinch.
A slapping leg kick lands for Ryan.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Ryan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Patricia Preston's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Ryan stuffs the takedown.
It seemed like Ryan was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Preston closes the distance looking to clinch
and Ryan counters with a two punch combo.

and Ryan counters with a crisp one two that drops Preston! Ryan thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Preston to his feet! Preston is in big trouble!

and Ryan counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Preston to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Ryan!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jake Ryan!
