Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jefferey Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Travis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Travis is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Shoot to thrill. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Jefferey Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jerry Travis!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Travis tries to land a front kick but Martin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Travis closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Martin did well to prevent Travis getting side control.

Martin has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Travis is on him like a limpet, forcing Martin back against the cage.

Travis manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Martin really is a fat lump.
Travis wants to stand but Martin is controlling the position.

Travis looking for subs off his back but Martin has passed one foot through into half guard.
Travis manages to get to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Travis is on top in guard.

Martin is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Travis preventing the sweep.
Martin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Martin pulls Travis in close to his closed guard and prevents Travis from doing any damage or advancing position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Travis stands and steps away. Martin gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Travis closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Travis is working for a submission of some sort.

Travis is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Travis is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Travis is looking to take a break and control but Martin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Travis seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Martin is looking to improve his position.
Martin is trying to stand up here but Travis is controlling him well.
Travis seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Travis is trying to control. Martin wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Travis seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Travis throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Martin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Travis is in Martin's guard.
Travis wants to control from the top but Martin keeps moving.
Travis is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Martin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Travis gets to his feet. Martin looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Travis. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martin closes the distance and clinches up with Travis, looking for a takedown. Martin pushes Travis against the cage but Travis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Travis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Travis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Martin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Travis asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Travis is trying to ground and pound but Martin uses the momentary lack of control by Travis to regain half guard.
Martin tries to get to full guard but Travis has control of the leg.
Travis wants to pass to mount but Martin is defending the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martin wants to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Travis is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Travis wants to work for an arm triangle but Martin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Travis is controlling the pace.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Travis decides to return to a standing position.
Martin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Travis but Travis pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Travis is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Martin enables Travis to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Martin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Travis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Martin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Travis is controlling him.

Travis decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Travis looking to score a takedown here. Martin is defending well but Travis drives through and ends up in Martin's guard.
Travis engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Jerry Travis has got the better of the ground game so far.

Martin pulls Travis in close to prevent any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jerry Travis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Travis drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Martin kicks Travis off and gets to his feet.

Travis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Martin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Martin gets back to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Martin makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Martin gets tackled into the cage by Travis. Travis maintains the clinch.

Travis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Travis stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Travis wants it to stay on the feet.
Travis tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Martin fails to land the takedown.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Martin wants to clinch up but Travis keeps it at a distance.

Martin gets caught napping as Travis dives in and scores a takedown. Martin manages to retain guard.
Travis slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Martin is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Travis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Travis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Travis stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Martin shoots in but no luck this time.
A nice side step and Travis releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jefferey Martin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Martin misses with a takedown
and Travis counters with a nice uppercut.

Martin tries to sprawl but Travis drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Martin pushes Travis off but Travis dives into side control.
Martin tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Travis presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Travis lands with some strikes.

Travis moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Martin has worked his arm free - good work by Martin!

Travis is trying to get an arm triangle but Martin is defending well.
Travis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Travis tries to advance to mount but Martin denies him.

Martin is trying to control Travis's posture but Travis avoids it.
Travis is looking to take a break and control but Martin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Travis wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Martin, who protects the arm well.
Martin struggling a bit here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jerry Travis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Travis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Jerry Travis rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
