PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Norbert Fulton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alyssa Gano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Norbert Fulton has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Norbert Fulton seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gano shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Fulton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gano doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gano manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fulton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gano throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fulton works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Fulton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gano drops back looking for a leg! Fulton is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fulton manages to kick Gano off! Gano jumps back into Fulton's guard.
Gano won't allow Fulton to sweep him here.

Fulton can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gano controls the pace.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Gano thows a leg kick but Fulton checks it

and Fulton decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gano's guard.

Fulton prevents Gano from getting back to his feet.

Gano has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Fulton doesn't defend quickly enough and Gano has managed to lock this one up! Can Fulton escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Gano on a fantastic submission victory.

In his post fight interview, Alyssa Gano started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
